After the Cricket World Cup is over I am keen to get rid of Sky. I've had it for at least 15 years but recently I've discovered the joy of Unotelly and now have Netflix and Hulu. All I really watch on Sky these days is The Living Channel and my son watches Nick Jr. I can't justify paying over $70 a month just for that.My current set-up:Sony Bravia TV (full HD but about 6 yrs old)Sony Blu-Ray Home Theatre SystemApple TV with Unotelly DNS settingsMySky HDI PS3 iPad with Unotelly DNS (an old one I'm using for media)MacPro 2008 running Playback which streams downloaded content to the Blu-Ray system (located in a different part of the house to the TV)Currently I have the Apple TV set to the US iTunes Store to get Netflix and Hulu. I can also swap to the UK store if I decide to sub to NowTV. I use the MySky recorder several times a week, but all the shows I record are on Freeview channels, so I am considering replacing it with a MyFreeview recorder. I have the Netflix and Hulu apps on my iPad and also BBC iPlayer and 4oD apps. What I'd like to be able to do is access as much of my streaming media as possible from one device. It's a bit of a pain to keep having to switch iTunes accounts on the Apple TV to access apps from different regions, and switching devices to access others. I'd quite like to put the Apple TV in the bedroom so I'm open to other streaming boxes, or even maybe getting a Mac Mini as a media server.I need to be able to access:NetflixHulu PlusNowTV iPlayer4oDLightbox (I have a year free)TVNZ On DemandFreeview via a MyFreeview recorderOne drawback is that I can't Ethernet connect anything to my modem without getting someone in to run cabling. But I have a really good Asus router that gives me wireless speeds close to the possible wires speeds on my VDSL connection.I'd really appreciate suggestions on the most efficient setup and which streaming box you would recommend, please.
