So I got myself both a Roku 4 and a new FireTV which both support 4K and I can say that in 4K they both look very impressive. The issue I have is that all of the 1080p content I watch (streaming and Plex) now looks like crap. I suspect that the scaling in these devices is just not that great as the same content played via my inbuilt TV apps is stunning (Sony X1 up scaling).To be honest the Apple TV 4 at 1080p using my TV's up scaling to 4K was a much better experience to the point that I'm thinking about going back to that set-up.Some will say to just use the TV's inbuilt apps but they are just a bit flaky and Amazon doesn't do 5.1, but then I lose Amazon if I go back to apple. Might try the Roku set to 1080p output over the weekend and see how that goes.Its a tough life trying to find the perfect streaming solution :-(Anyone else noticed this with 4K capable streamers?
