Wireless earphones for iPad/iPhone

I'm looking for a good set of wireless earphones to use with my iPad (Air 2), and in the future with an iPhone (6).

I'd like to clarify what I mean by "earphones" which is:

not in-ear bud style - very uncomfortable for me

sits inside the outer ear but does not go into the ear canal

Price range is negotiable if I can find a good comfortable set. Most of what I see from looking around is the in-ear style ear buds which I can't wear. I'm not sure what the best technologies are for wireless these days - bluetooth, something else etc so advice welcome.
