Hi guys, I've had a Samsung PS51D550 51" plasma for about 6 months without any issues. Turned it on today and after 5 minutes it clicks and image disappears. It then went through a series of clicks before stopping and now the standby light blinks twice for 5 times, pauses then starts the blinking sequence again. Tried unplugging from mains for 10 mins turned it on again and same thing. The initial click is the same one when you normally turn it on, the starter I assume, but 2 seconds later there is a quieter click which sounds like the one when you turn it off. It does this 4 or so times before resorting to the blinking business again. I tried a different wall socket as well but no difference. Did a bit of googling and I'm certainly not the only one with this issues and it seems likely its the power supply or the capacitors on the main board from what I can tell but I aint no tv tech! Since it's obviously still under warranty should I just ring Dick Smith and ask them to get a tech out a.s.a.p? What's the best way to go about this? If it does turn out to be busted, I'd like to upgrade somewhat if possible. I notice they don't sell this model any more, just a cheaper similar plasma and some more expensive LEDs so would they likely offer a newer tv? I still have the box and receipt. Anyone got experience or tips with either this issue or dealing with DSE to get is resolved? Cheers!
