Hi, I have an old but very nice Pioneer DV-717 DVD player that has stopped working. The question is - will it be worth repairing. I can use my new Xbox One S instead as it has a 4k Blue Ray Player in it. However I was wondering if the output quality would be as good or better than the older Pioneer mentioned above that I purchased in April/1999. The Pioneer front panel display lights have gone out and the DVD tray will not function at all. (there is a tiny light that shows up from above the main power button, but the rest of the unit seems very dead)I looked inside and the internal fuse is still good and I see no sign of visual damage, though I have no experience here) My initial feeling is that it might be time to move on from this device. I do not use Blue Ray DVD's, but have a VERY large collection of DVD Zone 1,2 & 4 disks.Any comment appreciated.
