Hi,I've been trying to get Sky connected through to the tv in the bedroom. I want decent picture, so I splashed out and bought this from Jaycar.http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=AR1875I have also bought this, to split the HDMI signal:http://www.jaycar.co.nz/productView.asp?ID=AC1620However the signal to both tvs comes and goes. The three red lights on the Splitter go off and on rather randomly. Does this suggest that the problem is 'handshaking'?This is the set-up in the lounge:Sky HDMI > HDMI Splitter Box (into 'Input', via HDMI cable)HDMI Splitter Box > HDMI Sender (into 'Output 1' via HDMI cable)HDMI Splitter Box > Sony Home Theatre box (into 'Output 2' via HDMI cable)Sony Home Theatre box > Samsung 40 inch LCD TV (via HDMI cable)I use a Harmony remote to power on the Sony Home Theatre and TV in order to watch tv. I keep the Sky HDMI box on all the time. I've been leaving the HMDI splitter on all the time.In the bedoom:HDMI Receiver > LG 26 inch tv (via HDMI cable)Have been trying for 5 days but I just can't get this to work consistently. Sometimes it all seems to be working, but turning something off and then on again will screw it all up. Last night I thought I'd nailed it when I changed the order that the Harmony remote turns things on in the lounge, and HDMI cabled everything with all the power off, and then turned power on from the source (Sky box) all the way through the process. The Sky feed into the bedroom was completely stable until I gave up on the cricket about 11pm. I turned everything off in the bedroom (so the Sky box and splitter box and HMDI Sender in lounge was left on). However this morning the kids woke me up complaining at 6am that the lounge tv wouldn't turn on. They'd pushed 'Watch TV' on the Harmony remote, which turns on the Sony Home Theatre and TV, but that didn't trigger the light on the HDMI splitter to provide a feed. So the screen was blank. Does anyone know what this might be, or what I should try?At the point my plan is to give up on splitting the HDMI signal (and try to get a refund from Jaycar for the splitter) and perhaps get a Component to HDMI cable and hook the Component end to the back of the Sky Box and the HDMI end into the HDMI Sender. I assume that would work? However I'm reluctant to give up just yet, I get the feeling I'm missing something simple?I have tested the HMD cables on other things and they all seem to work (they're all new, from PB Tech). One thing I did read somewhere (Rapallo's FAQ I believe) was that HMDI cables should be at least 2m long - could that be the issue (mine are 1.5m long)?Any help would be greatly appreciated!Cheers,Craig.
