Headphones - Wireless Earbuds - Noise Cancelling?

I have a set of Sol Republic Earbuds (Shadow).

There is nothing wrong with them (I only listen to podcasts or some Netflix films/TV series) but I come into Auckland on the ferry (35 minutes) and then walk 5 minutes to work.

I find I have to really crank up the volume whilst in-transit.

So, I thought that noise cancelling Earbuds would be better, but I have no experience of using them.

Note: I don't want the Apple type 'AirPods' (for example), because I think I would/could easily lose one.

What are you using?

PS Yes, I can Google, but actual personal usage is better.

I know someone will ask what my budget is. As a rough guide $200 would be an upper limit.
