HDMI changes resolution of PC on TV when PS4 is used

Hi there,

This is an ongoing issue I have had. I basically use my 49" 4K TV as a monitor for my laptop all of the time via HDMI cable. I also have my PS4 plugged into the same TV via HDMI cable. When my laptop is running through my TV the resolution is 3840 x 2160, which looks great. But as soon as I turn my PS4 on, the resolution on the channel my laptop runs through changes to 1080p(on TV screen) which doesn't look so great on this size of TV. In order to try to change the resolution back to 3840 x 2160 while my PS4 is running or after I turn it off, I head to display>advanced display settings>select the TV>Display adapter properties for Display 2 (my TV) and then go to "List all modes" and the max now there is 1920 x 1080 (Whereas before it was 3840x2160).

This is quite the pain when sometimes I want to use my PS4, and switch back to my laptop for a bit between playing. The only solution I have found is unplugging my laptop's HDMI cord on the TV end and re-plugging it in and the option for 3840x2160 reappears or changing HDMI cords.

Has anyone else had this issue or have any idea why this happens? Note my TV is cheap, the HDMI cords are ones that came with my consoles (I don't know if this means lower quality or what not), the issue does not happen when I use my Wii U, or Switch. I'm not sure if these are anything to do with what happens, just some info.

Thank you for any help!
