ARC issue with Panasonic TV and Onkyo Receiver

Hi

I am trying to connect a Panasonic TH-65FZ950 with my Onkyo Reciever (TX-NR609) via the HDMI ARC connection. It will play content connected directly via the reciever however as soon as I try to watch content directly via the TVs smart apps the sound cuts out and there is only a statically crackling sound. I have rest my reciever and tried all sorts of different settings with no luck, If I switch everything off and play something on the smart tv apps again it works but as soon as switch out and back again same problem. I tried another sound bar I had using arc and it was working fine so I am thinking there is an issue with the my receiver and it has not handling the ARC connection very well. Any idea out there?
