My sister is trying to add a BluRay player for my father in Queenstown. His (old) Plasma only has component or S-Video inputs. She bought a Samsung (which I've heard does CatchUp TV so I said look at those), but it only had HDMI output. She then asked for one with "the best connection below HDMI" and was sold a Panasonic with composite output. They told her component wasn't available on BluRay players anymore (and she went to 3 stores!)I assume they are wrong! And I figure a BluRay player with composite is worthless. DVDs with composite was never as good as S-Video or component - so even if BluRay component is reduced to 576 it'll be better than composite. When he updates his TV he'll use HDMI of course, but until then he's restricted.Could anyone advise on a good, cheap player? S-Video could be plugged straight into his amp with a coax-digital audio, which would probably simplify things with little loss in quality (right?). * S-Video * Component * Coax digital audioWe may be restricted to what she can get easily in Queenstown, she's only there a few days.Appreciate your thoughts!
