Hey guys. After playing around with our car stereo, I've decided I want to start looking into getting a DX Setup in the house.Question is What type of Antenna do I need?We are located in Henderson Valley, Waitakere and where we are for whatever reason, in the car we can receive a number of stations located outside of Auckland. For Example Classic Hits, from Whangarei, Hamilton, and Gold FM from the Coromandel, and Times FM from Rodney, and Many others. The question is, almost none of them are receivable in the house, (Sometimes I get traces if I point the wire in the right direction) I'm putting it down to the fact that the Antenna wire is no where near strong enough to pick it up, since the transmitters are so far off.We also can pick up quite clearly about 5-10km down the road, is Classic Hits from Taranaki, but I can't pick up a sniff of the signal at home, even with the car radio. My ultimate goal is to pick this up at home. So, I've decided to put some of my money together, and invest in a Roof Antenna setup for the sole purpose of FM Dxing. The question is that since I am relatively new to the subject of FM dxing, I have no idea where to start looking for a decent Antenna for that purpose.I want to keep my budget under $100 if possible.I was looking at this one here. I was keen on this one. http://www.trademe.co.nz/electronics-photography/tvs/cables-aerials/auction-548636308.htmHowever, it will still need to be pointed in the right direction and there's no point really if I have to climb on the roof to change the direction of the antenna, every time when f I want to pick up a signal in the opposite direction.I was reading more on this, and I found this seller from the USA. http://www.fmdxantenna.com/proddetail.php?prod=FMDipUS#.UQh0zme5z1sThis one also looks like a good option, even if it gets shipped from the USA, it's still cheaper then trademe, if it works better. I'm just not sure on that one, because it looks smaller then the 5 element one.Hope somebody can help me.Thanks
