Sub for Audioengine A2's

Howdy Geeks,I've been using a set of Audioengine A2's as my PC Speakers for the past year, and although they produce the most heavenly sound imaginable, I'm craving a bit of extra bass for my movies etc.The obvious choice would be to pair them with an Audioengine S8 subwoofer, but from what I hear, they're not quite as good as they should be for the price.I want something fairly compact with excellent sound and decent crossover controls for around the $400 mark.I've looked at the Wharfedale Diamond SW150 but was concerned that because the RCA outputs are 'line-level' that this simply passes the complete signal through to the satellite units without being affected by the crossover setting. Also, I can only get second hand units for under $400 and I'm wary of getting something that has been thrashed and will sound terrible. So if anyone could shed some light on whether the Wharfedale's RCA outputs are controlled by the crossover, or even steer me in the direction of a better product, that would be awesome!
