We're getting a new TV for the lounge, and have had a preliminary look around. Approval from the co-director has been recently lifted to 46/47" maximum screen size from 40-42". However, many manufacturers are eschewing this size and going straight for 50".Current models being looked at are Panasonic L42-ET60, LG 42LA6230, and grudging approval for LG 50LA6230 if really required. Research so far seems to indicate the Panasonic has a slightly better picture, and better Smart TV smarts (although with an Apple TV and PlexConnect and Chromecast this probably isn't so important). The LG are priced better presently, and the stand is more attractive, however there are indications the processors are a little slower, and can struggle with streaming. The Samsungs do well technically, but the older styling (i.e. black not silver on the smaller models) makes it hard to swallow. Does anyone have either of these and can offer feedback, or can anyone chime in with feedback on similar searches, experiences?
