Carrying on from this thread, which has a lot of Emby chit chat...https://www.geekzone.co.nz/forums.asp?forumid=34&topicid=242708What is the benefit of moving from Plex to Emby? I installed an Emby container on my Unraid server the other day but have only added my movies folder, just to see what it looks like. It doesn't seem as polished as Plex to me, but that might not be the point? People seem unhappy about losing plugins etc from Plex, and having some unnecessary features show up (podcasts/streaming content/news). I don't mind that so much. I only use Plex to play my own content on all my devices, and share that content with family. So in that regard Plex has done, and continues to do, everything I think I need. But I'm always keen on new things, so if there's something I'm missing about Emby I'm keen to know?In terms of issues with Plex - recently there was a WebOS client update that killed content with DTS audio. The videos would just buffer constantly. They did turn around a fix pretty quickly though, and I was pretty active on the forum to keep an eye on updates which were almost daily. So my experience of their support is good so far. That said, I have some buffering issues from time to time on 4K H.265 content and it's definitely not client/network. Reading about this it seems it can be an intermittent fault for a lot of people and when they try that same content in other services such as Emby it works fine. So in that regard I'm very interested in what Emby can do if it keeps my viewing experience consistent.Have at it team!
